Meet Charlie Fowler from natural skin brand MOA

MOA started as I became increasingly passionate about healthy eating and natural skin care when I became a mum. My daughter suffers from eczema and so my quest for natural and organic products to soothe her inflamed skin began.

I have always been an avid gardener, I used to help my dad in the garden, made perfumes from petals and drew plants as a child.

I became fascinated with herbology, drinking herbal teas and researching gentle ways of healing the body holistically. Yarrow was a herb which I discovered early on and was intrigued by, it has such a wealth of properties (for the skin too) and I hardly found it in any skin products. Along with my friend and business partner, Andy we created a simple balm with yarrow and tea tree for skin healing and named it The Green Balm.

I truly believe that what we put in our bodies and on our skin is crucial to staying healthy. In our modern world we are increasingly surrounded by pollutants and chemicals which have an accumulative effect on our health and on the planet.  I try and eat a vegan diet as much as possible and I believe that eating wholefoods and a plant based diet helps the body to thrive and heal.

The skin absorbs everything we put on it, and so, by using only organic and natural ingredients (and avoiding harmful chemicals), the skin is restored, balanced and nourished as they work in harmony with the body.  We only use the finest botanical, ethically sourced and cruelty free ingredients and many of our products are vegan too.

  • It’s so important for us to be showcasing great British manufacturing here at the Home & Gift show. The footfall here is massive and it’s an opportunity for people to see the products, hear the story and for us to be able to show first-hand the quality of British manufacturing we have embraced here with the homeware and cooking range.

  • We love the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at Harrogate. It’s a must for buyers and a showcase for Yorkshire hospitality. We always enjoy the whole show experience, seeing new faces and meeting with some of our regular suppliers in person.
