Abbeyhorn - Est 1749

DP1: DP1-C48

Welcome to the world of Abbeyhorn, please come and visit our stand DP1-C48 to see the amazing and unique products we produce from Cow Horn and Red Deer Antler.

We are the last remaining horn works of our size in the UK, and we can trace our roots back to the 17th Century when the art of horn carving was prolific.  Today's Artisans still use the traditional skills, handed down over generations, to hand-make natural and appealing gifts.

Paul, Abbeyhorn's owner, started as an apprentice Horn Carver back in 1980, he loved the company so much that he bought it in 1991 and moved us from Kendal, to the little village of Holme on the cusp of the Lake District. We have 10 Horn workers in our on-site factory, 1 member of staff in the packing room, 3 ladies in the Office and Paul the owner.

Abbeyhorn is very proud to source our raw materials from ethical sources.  The Ankole Cow Horn is a by-product of the meat industry in Nigeria, and our Antler comes from a herd of Red Deer in Scotland and is collected by hand when they shed them between April and June.  These horns would just be discarded, so instead we make them into beautiful individual gifts and homeware by hand. No two pieces of horn are ever the same in colouration or size, so every piece we produce is unique.

Over the years Abbeyhorn has produced props for several films and TV programs, and are very proud to be the official manufacturer of the Horn Mead Mugs and horn cups for the two cult series, Game Of Thrones and Vikings.

At this year's show we are showcasing the magnificent collection of rough and polished drinking vessels, this includes the mugs and cups used on Game of Thrones and Vikings, our Tiny Shot Tots, our leather holstered drinking horns ranging from 5" to over 25", and our drinking horns on stands.

We would also like to recommend you come along to see our tradtional but modern collections, which include a range of male grooming accessories and gifts, such as moustache shaped beard brushes, combs, hair and shoe brushes, and the stunning range of 4" to 24" Shoehorns.

So please pop along to meet Paul and Marianne and discover our beautiful range of unique gifts.

Testimonials
  • It’s so important for us to be showcasing great British manufacturing here at the Home & Gift show. The footfall here is massive and it’s an opportunity for people to see the products, hear the story and for us to be able to show first-hand the quality of British manufacturing we have embraced here with the homeware and cooking range.

  • We love the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at Harrogate. It’s a must for buyers and a showcase for Yorkshire hospitality. We always enjoy the whole show experience, seeing new faces and meeting with some of our regular suppliers in person.
